Service Description

When Kenmare was known as Nedeen (Nedín), there was still an area called Kenmare – known as Kenmare Old and later Kenmare Proper. Learn the history of this area – the Sheen Falls Estate and Old Kenmare Graveyard with the Famine Plot. The graveyard, site of an early monastic settlement, was founded by Saint Finian of Innisfallen who died at the end of the 7th Century. The Church of St Finian now stands in ruins.
